Adele: 'I cried pretty much all day' after the Grammys

Adele (noun): 1. Gifted songstress; 2. heartstring harpist; 3. superlative performer.

The public has come to define Adele by her ability to effortlessly slay vocals, so much so that her seemingly flat Grammy performance left fans fuming — at the audio controller, of course. The British superstar later confirmed that technical issues were to blame. "The piano mics fell on to the piano strings, that's what the guitar sound was," she explained on Twitter late Monday, adding, "It made it sound out of tune. (Expletive) happens. X."

In an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show early Thursday, Adele shared the technical glitch made her cry: “I was embarrassed. I woke up the next morning to people being like, ‘We still love you. Don’t worry!’ And I was like, ‘I didn’t ask you if you still loved me, but thanks!' I was so embarrassed. I cried pretty much all day."

Adele performs during the 58th Grammy Awards.

But, as Adele jokes, she probably would have done that anyway.

"If it had been like a standout performance, I would have cried as well," she said with a smile. "I always cry."

Adele later shared some lighthearted news, including her magical Disneyland visit with her 3-year-old son, Angelo.

“I’ve never been,” she explained. “My grandpy always wanted to take me. He died when I was 10 and he planned to take me when I was about 11 or 12 and he died before he took me. So, when I arrived at the castle, I was full-on welled-up. I was really emotional, and just (my son) believing and me believing that they were all real. The innocence of it all was what was so magical. I cried when I met Belle because I was talking to my kid and then she started talking and I was like, ‘Oh my God!’ She sounded just like the character from the film and it freaked me out and I burst into tears. And (my son) met (Frozen’s) Anna and Elsa, who he loves, and stuff like that.”

She also recorded a pretty epic voicemail for Ellen, which we need on iTunes like ASAP.

"Hello. It's me. I was wondering if, after all these years, you'd leave a message at the beep..."
