'Fuller House' premiere: 5 things we learned about the Netflix spinoff

You miss your old familiar friends waiting just around the bend?

Then you're in luck: The cast of Full House-- minus the Olsens (we'll get to that) and plus a few new characters-- is coming to Netflix in spinoff Fuller House Feb. 26.

The Fuller House cast celebrated their return to (streaming) TV with a premiere in Los Angeles Tuesday night.

And they gave us some details about the show, which is just as lesson- and love-filled as the one that ended in 1995.

Here are 5 things we learned about the series:

1. Kimmy Gibbler has secrets

Full House fans maybe be surprised to learn that quirky neighbor Kimmy (Andrea Barber) has a sexy side. That helps explain how, since we left her, she hooked up with the hot (new character played by Juan Pablo Di Pace) Fernando, the father of her daughter.

2. Nostalgia runs (maybe too) deep

Producers considered updates to the show, including having Uncle Joey (Dave Coulier) make the kids laugh with new voices-- maybe Spongebob?-- instead of his character's classic Bullwinkle and Popeye impressions. Coulier says, however, that that's probably not what the Full House faithful want. So, instead, his classic Mr. Woodchuck voice and puppet might be back on the show...

3. Catchphrases return in a big way

Candace Cameron Bure, whose D.J. was the big sister on Full and is a single mother on Fuller (she marries into the Fuller last name, hence the show title), said that the actors were so eager to revisit their characters' famous catchphrases (hers was "Oh mylanta!") that they ended up adding lines like "Have mercy!" and "How rude!" into scenes where they weren't even written in the script.

4. They acknowledge Michelle's absence

In episode 1 of the 13-episode series, the issue of the missing Michelle (the youngest sister played by Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who both opted not to join the show) is addressed in a funny and not-at-all-subtle way. "We're still hoping (the Olsens) will come back and play with us" on future Fuller House episodes, said series creator Jeff Franklin.

5. John Stamos took so many Full House mementos

Lori Loughlin, who plays Becky, the wife of John Stamos' Uncle Jesse, said she didn't wind up saving anything from the old show... because "Stamos took everything... like half the set home."
