On Monday, viewers of the 58th annual Grammy Awards witnessed a parade of tributes to music's supernovas. Yet the most sweeping performance of the night was Lady Gaga's homage to the inimitable David Bowie.

After memorializing Bowie with a tattoo on her ribcage, Gaga took to the Grammys stage, channeling the rock chameleon in a Ziggy Stardust-inspired ensemble and performing a medley of the pioneer's hits, including Space Oddity, Changes, Ziggy Stardust, Suffragette City, Rebel Rebel, Fashion, Fame, Under Pressure, Let's Dance and Heroes.

But one viewer didn’t seem too gaga about the spirited tribute: Bowie’s son.

In a message posted late Monday, Duncan Jones shared the Oxford English dictionary definition of the word, "Gaga."

“‘Overexcited or irrational, typically as a result of infatuation or excessive enthusiasm; mentally confused.’ Damn it! What IS that word!?” the British director wrote in a thinly-veiled address.

Bowie passed away last month following a long-term battle with cancer. The announcement came on the heels of his 69th birthday (Jan. 8) and the release of his apparent farewell album, Blackstar (also Jan. 8).

"David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer," a statement on Bowie's official social media accounts read. "While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief."

Following a hiatus from social media, Jones tweeted his appreciation for the messages of support and solidarity during his bereavement. "Hi all. Just wanted to thank you for the incredibly kind words & thoughts. I'll be easing my way back into Twitter."

He later revealed that Bowie was set to be a grandfather this summer. "1 month since dad died today," he wrote on Twitter on Feb. 10. "Made this card for him at Christmas. Due in June. Circle of life. Love you, granddad."
