Finish that lyric: "This hit, that ice cold..."

When did Mark Ronson know Uptown Funk was going to be something special? As Ronson described backstage after winning Pop Duo/Group Performance for his mega-hit with Bruno Mars, his people were jamming in the studio with Bruno, and they landed one on notable lyric referencing a certain actress.

"We were in Bruno’s studio, and like, 'Let’s jam something out.' And I was on bass."

"We wrote the first verse, and when [producer Jeff Bhasker] came with that line, 'Michelle Pfeiffer, that white gold.' We thought, that’s pretty good, we might be onto something."

And as we now know, he was right.
