Netflix's 'Gilmore Girls' adds Czuchry, Weil, but no McCarthy
The much-anticipated Gilmore Girls' revival is adding some familiar faces.
Milo Ventimiglia (Gotham), Matt Czuchry (The Good Wife), Liza Weil (How to Get Away With Murder) and Yanic Truesdale (Rumours) will return to play their original characters in the Netflix presentation, which will consist of four 90-minute episodes.
The show's most prominent post-Gilmore success, film and TV star Melissa McCarthy, tweeted last week that she hadn't been asked to return.
Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel headline the cast, reprising their roles as mom Lorelai and daughter Rory, with Scott Patterson and Kelly Bishop returning as Luke and Lorelai's mother, Emily, respectively. Keiko Agena (Transformers: Dark of the Moon) and Sean Gunn (Guardians of the Galaxy) also will be back.
The new episodes will mark the return of creator and executive producer Amy Sherman-Palladino, with Daniel Palladino serving as executive producer. They will write and direct the episodes.
