A ride with Adele is the gift that keeps on giving for TheLate Late Show host James Corden.
Besides just the fun of singing hits with the amazingly talented superstar, Corden is reaping a promotional benefit, with the Carpool Karaoke clip setting a YouTube viewing record for the virally competitive late-night TV shows.
As of Wednesday, the Adele segment, broadcast last month on the CBS late-night program (weeknights, 12:37 a.m. ET/PT), had recorded more than 67.5 million views, according to data from Tubular Labs. The video pulled in a 42 million views in its first five days on YouTube.
Corden's Late Late Show YouTube channel has recorded more than 630 million views and 3.1 million subscribers since the show premiered last March.
With singing companions like these stars, we'd love to be stuck in traffic.
Carpool Karaoke has become a signature segment for Corden, who traveled the streets of Los Angeles with the great Elton John in the post-Super Bowl Late Late Show on Sunday. That episode attracted nearly 5 million viewers, a record for the first-year show.
