Slow and steady wins the race — and Michael B. Jordan should know. The Creed actor celebrates his 29th birthday today on the heels of an honor 17 years in the making.

Jordan was named entertainer of the year and most outstanding actor at the NAACP Image Awards on Friday. The A-lister made his initial foray into acting through small roles in shows like The Sopranos, Cosby and All My Children. He later took audiences through The Wire in 2002, with his star really rising after 2013’s Fruitvale Station and 2015’s Creed.

But perhaps the longest-running joke has been about his middle initial, "B," which the Internet is convinced is short for "Bae."

And it might as well be.

Look at that smile. Look at it.

Accordingly, we've decided to highlight five times Jordan lived up to the label. (Note: This is not an exhaustive list. We're just trying to keep this reasonable.)

1. When he spoke on the driving factor behind his portrayal of Oscar Grant in Fruitvale Station

2. When he ticked off all the boxes on our checklist in That Awkward Moment

WE WILL MARRY YOU, MIKEY.

3. When he took the high road after that catastrophe of a Fantastic Four interview

"Sometimes journalists use that room as a safety net to kind of say whatever they want and ask questions that they would never normally ask you outside of that room," he told The Huffington Post when asked about the interview back in August. "As actors, sometimes we feel the pressure to always say what you're supposed to and kind of put your best foot forward (in) promoting the film."

"But we're still people," he admitted. "We're still human. So that kind of bothers us. But you know, at the end of the day, we don't want to bring the attention to ignorance, and we always take the high road on these things and move forward."

4. Every time he appeared on-screen in Creed

5. Each time he posted to Instagram — and we do mean each time.

Happy birthday to the Internet's boyfriend!
