Ashton Kutcher turns 38: Celebrate his best on-screen romances

Ellen Back

Happy Birthday, Ashton!

What better way to celebrate your 38th by reminiscing on your successful, and super steamy, acting career?

Though your public romances basically started (That '70s Show) and ended (real-life marriage) with Mila Kunis, we’ve seen some fiery romances in between, featuring you as a everything from a clueless newlywed, to a spy husband and even bad-boy womanizer.

Let's review Kutcher's best onscreen couplings:

Just Married (2003)

Who could forget our beloved Brittany Murphy? These two lovebirds gave us a laugh-out-loud performance playing young and reckless newlyweds trying to make it through their disastrous honeymoon—in sickness and in health.

My Boss’s Daughter (2003)

Tara and Ashton goof off on set.

We wouldn’t really call this a full-on romantic comedy, but it’s pretty hilarious how hard Ashton’s character tries to impress boss’s daughter, Tara Reid. Does he end up with the girl? Well, you'll have to see for yourself.

Guess Who (2005)

Judith Scott, Bernie Mac, Ashton Kutcher and Zoe Saldana share a playful moment on set.

"That's just it, she's everything I'm not. You know, she's my other half. Without her I'm not whole." Ashton delivers heart-wrenching lines to Zoe Saldana on the set of Guess Who. But father of the bride, Bernie Mac, thinks otherwise. The interracial couple is forced to fight through fire to get the blessing that they so desperately desire, even if that means taking it to the dance floor.

A Lot Like Love (2005)

It’s the picture perfect start to a romantic relationship when Ashton and Amanda Peet play the part of two strangers who first meet on an airplane. Despite their on-again/off-again fling, it’s pretty obvious these two can’t stay away from each other whether they’re just friends or something more.

The Guardian (2006)

Melissa and Ashton have an intimate moment.

They meet at a bar, do the do, and fall in love, all while Ashton trains to be a Coast Guard Rescue Swimmer. Melissa Sagemiller is in it for the ride, and you can’t help but root for the two during their tough journey through boot camp.

W hat Happens in Vegas (2008)

Ashton and Cameron Diaz share a pretty unusual love-hate relationship after their characters drunkenly get married in a Las Vegas chapel. But after winning a jackpot slot machine, the couple fights tooth and nail because 3 million dollars is a love worth fighting for.

S pread (2009)

Anne and Ashton soak in the sun by the poolside.

This one was a little too mature for a PG-13 audience but let’s just say it got pretty hot and steamy with Anne Heche—in the bedroom, in the kitchen, by the pool, you name it. He charms his way into the hearts, and beds, of successful woman and he's not afraid to flaunt it. You may see a side of Ashton you're not used to. You’ll just have to trust us with this one.

Killers (2010)

Ashton and Katherine are on the look out for trouble.

Ashton and Katherine Heigl use a lot of protection—in the form of weapons, that is. There may not have been a lot of kisses and cuddles on the set of this action-packed romcom but one thing's for sure: the two stars get down and dirty wherever they go.

No Strings Attached (2011)

It was a little awkward when Mila and JT came out with Friends with Benefits that same year, but we can’t deny the chemistry between Ashton and Natalie Portman—regardless of how you label their on-screen relationship. After being lifelong friends, they make a pact to keep things strictly sexual, or at least they try to.

Ashton has shared a handful of special moments with his co-stars throughout the years. Nevertheless, he's made it pretty clear, Mila has nothing to worry about.
