Conjoined twins sharing heart remain in critical condition

WXIA-TV

Conjoined twins, who are sharing the same heart and liver, remained in critical condition after their birth in Augusta, Ga., on Monday.

Doctors delivered the twins via C-section. They're currently being treated in the neonatal intensive care unit of Children's Hospital of Georgia (CHOG).

Brittany Crafton, the mother, is recovering next door, at the Georgia Regents Medical Center.

The shocking discovery about the twin's condition came after a sonogram, officials said. Despite the rarity of such births - conjoined twins happen in 1 out of every 60,000 - the prognosis for the survival of these two brothers is good, WAGT-TV reports.

Crafton wrote on her Facebook page just before delivery day about her faith in God, and the prayers of many supporting her sons. She has named the twins Chance and Chandler.
